Defensive Driving

Defensive Driving courses are no longer available just from your local department of transportation. Companies offer Defensive Driving courses online individually or in seminars and even, through the mail video courses. The benefits of a Defensive Driving course are, an increased driving intelligence, and potential for ticket dismissal and car insurance rate reductions. Most of the Defensive Driving courses can tell you if they are accepted in your state for the ticket dismissal and insurance rate reductions. Defensive Driving courses may require you to take a test upon completion of the course, once you pass this test you are issued a certificate of completion that you then take to your local court house along with a copy of your driving record in order to have them dismiss your ticket. Dependent on your state and the Defensive driving course you take the cost will vary from as low as $15 to over $50. The online Defensive Driving courses are extremely convenient not only in that they can be done from home or anywhere you have internet access but you can also do them at your own pace and can often take up to 6 months to complete. Many of the Defensive Driving companies also can get you a copy of your driving record (which you need for ticket dismissal) much more quickly than your DMV.
